Get reimbursed up 50% of total cost for eligible
improvements! The City of Philadelphia’s Department of Commerce offers the Storefront Improvement Program, which reimburses owners of commercial buildings and
businesses which provides goods and services to the
community, up to 50% of total cost of eligible
improvements, for a maximum reimbursement of $10,000 for a single commercial property, or $15,000 for a multiple
address or corner business property.
Businesses must be located at one of the following blocks:
- 100-200 block of 9th Street
- 100-200 block of 10th Street
- 100-200 block of 11th Street
- 800-1000 block of Race Street
- 900-1200 block of Spring Garden Street
- 800-1000 block of Vine Street
Examples of eligible improvements**:
- Exterior painting
- Windows/glazing
- Exterior façade lighting
- Signage and awnings
- See-through security grills
- Exterior doors
- Cornices
- Masonry/Brick pointing
**Improvements must be made to the exterior and visible to the public.
