Oh no! Bed Bugs! Take Action!
Dion Lerman from Pennsylvania Integrated Pest Management Program came to PCDC to speak on Bed Bug Basics on Monday November 6th, 2017 6 PM. 15 attendees participated at this workshop.
During the workshops, Mr. Lerman taught us that bed bugs can be avoided and controlled. He advised that there is no shame in finding bed bugs in the house and that bed bugs do not cause or spread diseases. Simple heat and/or steam can kill bed bugs, but not their eggs.
Mr. Lerman advised the community to take action steps:
- Learn to identify bedbugs
- Put mattress encasements on all beds and box springs
- Use interceptors under the legs of beds and other furniture
If you are unsure if you have found a bed bug, you can bring it to Mr. Lerman’s office located at 675 Sansom Street. He will inspect the bug for you at no cost.
