Chinatown Welcomes Back the Parklet!
During the early hours of Saturday, April 15th, in front of Heng Fa Food Market, workers began assembling the Chinatown Parklet. Started in 2012 by Philadelphia’s Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems, the parklet system allows communities to temporarily replace parking areas meant for cars, and change them into public seating areas for pedestrians. Thanks to Michael Chow and his team, this year marks the fourth year of PCDC’s Parklet program.
