Community News：Treerific Wrap-up to Tree Giveaway

On Saturday May 7th, 2016, PCDC hosted its first free tree giveaway event at the Asian America Heritage Celebration (AAHC) at Franklin Square. 50 trees with species ranging from Pagoda Dogwood, Cornelian Cherry, Apple Serviceberry, American Hazelnut, Apple, Santa Rosa Plum to Tilton Apricot found homes in Philadelphia. 42 trees were reserved a week before the event, and the remaining, including unclaimed trees due to no-shows were acquired by event attendees. Interest for the trees was strong. People were informed to check treephilly.org for upcoming events, because TreePhilly giveaways happen twice a year at different locations. PCDC thanks our 6 dedicated volunteers for their work to make this event successful!
