Language Access Philly
Language Access Philly
Language Access Philly is a city wide program designed to bridge the access gap by making it easier for residents with limited English proficiency to obtain essential public information and services. Under Language Access Philly, all city departments will designate a language access coordinator charged with overseeing the development of a language access implementation plan.
Language Access Philly establishes a system to implement Philadelphia Home Rule Charter which requires all City agencies to prepare and implement plans that promote access and participation with services for persons with limited English proficiency.
You may request for an interpreter orally, in writing, or by pointing to a language card. The employee shall determine whether bi-lingual staff in the office is available. If not, the employee shall contact a telephone interpreter service to provide interpreter services.
