KEEP CHINATOWN CLEAN!

KEEP CHINATOWN CLEAN!

The trash that piles up at various locations is a serious problem. Illegal dumping is a serious problem at 918 Spring Street, 216 N 9th Street, 1027 Spring Street , and Hing Wah Yuen.

The unsightly, smelly garbage reflects poorly on our proud
neighborhood. Only you, the residents and visitors of Chinatown, can solve the problem. According to the City, Chinatown trash is picked up on Thursday morning:

  • April 1 through September 30: Trash and recycling should be set out the night before at 8:00 PM until 6:00 AM the day of collection.
  • October 1 through March 31: Trash and recycling should be set out the night before at 6:00 PM until 6:00 AM the day of collection.

The City will not haul away televisions, computer equipment, oversized construction debris, or tires as part of curbside
collection. Those items and other appliances must be taken away by a private hauler or brought to the City’s Convenience Centers.

Residents may continue to set out compactable furniture, such as sofas, for collection at curbside (up to two items per week).
Mattresses and box springs must be bagged and sealed in plastic mattress bags when placed curbside.
