CATCH THE POWER OF VOTING!!!

CATCH THE POWER OF VOTING!!!

This summer, PCDC held four nonpartisan “Voting is Power” events throughout the city to help the community get informed about the upcoming General Election, and get registered to vote.

July 11

On Monday, July 11th, the PCDC voter registration table at the Youth Basketball tournament at the Chinese Christian Church and Center on Monday, assisted 10 first time young adults to register to vote.

July 24

Sunday Fun Day. July 24th was a fun-filled afternoon for all ages. This PCDC Voting is Power event was a collaboration with some of our most prominent neighborhood leaders and celebrities: the House of Dragons Fire House, the Philadelphia Suns, the Chinese American Women’s Sisterhood Society of Philadelphia, and DJ Ronnie D and L8Nite. We kicked off the event with a Philadelphia Suns dragon and lion dance followed by 3 hours of DJ Ronnie D spinning tunes, while kids lined up for tattoos and balloon animals. Meanwhile, PCDC provided their parents and older siblings with information on the upcoming presidential candidates and CAWSSP assisted with voter registration.

August 7

PCDC was at the Philadelphia Museum of Art “First Sunday” on August 7th to assist attendees on voter registration at the East and West entrances. PMA reported over 6,000 attendees; we were happy to assist over 35 residents. Don’t miss us at the next “First Sunday” event.

August 9

PCDC outreached to seniors at 801 Locust on Tuesday, 8/9, with a special emphasis on issues relevant to the senior citizens in the United States. Over 50 attended the hour-long event.

PCDC would like to thank all of our partners and volunteers, we are grateful for all of your help and support!
