COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT ASSOCIATE (FULL-TIME)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation (PCDC) is searching for a Project Associate to assist with our community development projects. The projects will be located within the Chinatown area, including both affordable housing and mixed-use development. Community Development Project Associate will support all real estate development activities, including land acquisition, financing, construction management, etc. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the preparation of documents needed for site control and acquisition, financing, design development, and construction for all housing developments.
  • Support Project Manager on other planning and development activities.
  • Provide support in preparing reports for PCDC’s board, funders and lenders.
  • Communicate PCDC’s development plans and activities to neighborhood residents.
  • Coordinate with PCDC’s Property Management team for marketing and/or lease up of the project
  • Manage partnerships with consultants and other neighborhood organizations 
  • Fulfill other duties and complete special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, urban studies, planning, real estate development, community development or related field from an accredited college or university, and/or with competencies and experience in community development. Master’s degree is preferred. Commitment to working with immigrant communities
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and planning skills 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to be productive in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bilingual (English and Chinese) and cultural competency is preferred

GRANT WRITER (FULL-TIME)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation (PCDC) is searching for an experienced Grant Writer to manage our grant writing and reporting process. The Grant Writer oversees the grant submission process and helps PCDC to manage and grow its grant portfolio.

The Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation (PCDC) is searching for an experienced Grant Writer to manage our grant writing and reporting process. The Grant Writer oversees the grant submission process and helps PCDC to manage and grow its grant portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and assess grants and new funding opportunities.
  • Write, edit, and submit grant proposals to existing and new funding opportunities, including federal, state, local, foundation, and corporate funders.
  • Collaborate with program staff and management to strategize for program planning.
  • Create program budgets and logic models as needed.
  • Oversee grant submission process of Communications and Development Associate and interns as applicable.
  • Track grant submissions process in grant tracking database.
  • Manage grant reporting process and work with staff members to track outcomes.
  • Build upon the trust that PCDC has developed with the community
  • Reports directly to the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in English writing, communications, nonprofit management, or a similar social services.
  • At least two to three years of nonprofit grant writing experience preferred, including federal, state, local, corporate, and foundation grants.
  • Additional experience desired includes partnerships with immigrant community organizations, program planning and reporting, and grants management
  • Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • Native Chinese language and cultural competency is a plus but not required.

HOURS

The Grant Writer is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with experience.
