PCDC Teen Club College Kickoff at Bryn Mawr and Haverford

PCDC Teen Club College Kickoff at Bryn Mawr and Haverford

The PCDC Teen Club kicked off its Spring/Summer college tours with a trip to Bryn Mawr and Haverford.

On April 1st, 14 students received an official tour of Bryn Mawr College, discovering their fully-funded 360°program that takes students abroad to engage them in an immersive study experience and their Praxis program that allows students to intern for credit. The students enjoyed a taste of college life at brunch at Bryn Mawr’s Erdmann Dining Hall.  Although a small school, Bryn Mawr has strong relationships with surrounding colleges, particularly the second college students visited, Haverford.

Bryn Mawr and Haverford students freely cross-register classes.  Students discovered that the Haverford College campus is also an arboretum and home to 14 state champion trees, the largest of their species in Pennsylvania, and houses the Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery exhibition space.

This year, the Teen Club will also be visiting: Temple, Princeton, Villanova, Swarthmore, the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, and NYU. Tours are free of charge and open to all high school students, but space is limited. Return a completed permission slip to Ailin Cao at acao@chinatown-pcdc.org to join.
