PCDC Presents Civic Engagement at APAC 2017 Horizons Conference

PCDC was proud to be invited to speak at the first Asian Philly American (APAC) Horizons Conference, a collaboration between Drexel’s Asian Students Association and the University of Pennsylvania’s Chinese Students’ Association. This event brought together Philadelphia Asian American community leaders to share current issues and methods of mobilization and empowerment. Speakers included representatives from Witnesses to Hunger, the Center for Hunger-Free Communities, Asian Pacific Association at Comcast, VietLead, and the Yellow Rage Asian American female spoken word poetry group.

PCDC’s Ailin Cao and Lamei Zhang presented on the history of Chinatown and mobilizing Asian American civic engagement.  PCDC’s Get Out The Vote initiative launched at the end of April to register voters for the PA primary elections in May.
