Callowhill-Chinatown North Strategic Plan
July 17, Philadelphia City Planning Commission held first public meeting for Callowhill-Chinatown North Strategic Plan at F.A.C.T School to discuss big picture planning issues in the area consists of Poplar, Callowhill, Chinatown North, Super blocks (the area of low-rise buildings and parking lots be-tween Old City and Northern Liberties), and the Waterfront. Marian Hull, planning group leader with URS Corporation presented their recent re-search on the existing conditions with Laura Spina, leading planner for Philadelphia 2035 Central District Plan. The presentation was followed by a planning practice where meeting attendees used dots on a map to vote for their priorities. The meeting summary is now available on Planning Commission’s website at www.philaplanning.org.
The findings in the strategic plan will inform the larger Central district-level plan, which held its first public meeting in June.
Please attend the next public meeting in Fall 2012.
