What do you want Chinatown to be like in 2035? Maybe Chinatown will have more housing for our seniors and low-income residents. Maybe Chinatown will be a vibrant and robust ethnic business district. Maybe Chinatown will have more job opportunities in the neighborhood. Does this sound good? It can only happen if you join the conversation. Come and share your vision of Chinatown and your ideas on how to improve our community.
The Chinatown neighborhood will only be a part of the conversation. The Central District Planning will guide the physical development for all the neighborhoods bounded by Delaware River and Schuylkill River, Girard Avenue and Washington Avenue. The plan will make recommendations for zoning changes, city-owned land and facilities, and public investment.
The Central District Plan is one of 18 District Plans for Philadelphia 2035, the City’s comprehensive plan. Public officials and staff from Philadelphia City Planning Commission will be present and record feedback at two public meetings. PCDC encourages all Chinatown stakeholders to participate in these meetings.
The public meetings will take place as an Open House in two locations:
June 18th at 5:30-7:30 p.m. German Society of Philadelphia 611 Spring Garden Street
June 20th at 5:30-7:30 p.m Hamilton Garden at the Kimmel Center 300 South Broad Street
